As a Child Psychologist, I specialize in working with daycare, preschool, kindergarten, and other early childcare educators to provide support and guidance in managing challenging behaviour in young children.

What is Behaviour Consultation?

Behaviour consultation for early childhood centres is a service in which a qualified behaviour consultant works with educators and staff to develop strategies for managing challenging behaviours in the classroom. 

It provides early childhood centres with evidence-based strategies to promote positive behaviour, support healthy development, and create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.

It also helps early childhood educators identify potential contributing factors, learn effective strategies for managing behaviour difficulties in the classroom setting, and feel more confident and equipped to handle big feelings and behaviours, which can reduce stress and improve job satisfaction.

My consultation services include:

• Informational education sessions: I offer educational sessions to help early childhood professionals understand the underlying causes of challenging behaviour in young children, and develop strategies to promote positive behaviour.
• Centre, Classroom, or Teacher consultation: I provide consultation to early childhood professionals on effective classroom management strategies, including positive reinforcement techniques, strategies for promoting pro-social behaviour, and effective behaviour management approaches throughout the centre or the classroom, or for individual childcare professionals who would like to learn more.
• Individual child assessment and consultation: I work closely with early childhood professionals to assess and develop plans for individual children who may be experiencing challenging behaviour. This may involve observations and assessments of the child's behaviour, as well as recommendations for individualized strategies and interventions.
